This month, Magnum Photos – the world's leading photojournalism co-operative – is celebrating 70 years since its foundation with a global events program. Luckily for us, London, our very own cultural capital, will host a special fortnight of events including exhibitions, talks and a bespoke two-week artist residency. Magnum photographers have been among the most acclaimed, noted for its coverage of conflict and society. Great names include the 1940s and 50s founders Robert Capa, David Seymour, George Rodger and Henri Cartier-Bresson, then the likes of Elliott Erwitt, Eve Arnold and Martine Franck, with Martin Parr having led the co-operative into modern social documentary work in the 1980s and 1990s.

The goal of the anniversary programme? To connect the public with Magnum and its photographic heritage. Dedicated to telling the world's most riveting, important narratives through the art of imagery, Magnum will showcase a collection of its archival and contemporary work.

Magnum Photos still represents some of the most renowned photographers, chronicling the world's people and places in its own trademark style, and shares a common vision of challenging the status quo.
