Embark on an ethereal and illusory visual journey this summer with Summer Breeze: an Ensemble of Gallery Artists, spanning the Golden Square and Soho Square locations of the Frith Street Gallery.

Summer Breeze brings together a selection of the gallery’s most notable artists to explore the theme of material transience. Working in a range of media, the artists on display approach and test the boundaries between body and mind, between object and image, and between documentation and fiction.

Daniel Silver’s cluster of human figures, positioned at the entrance to the Golden Square gallery, promises to open the exhibition with an impressive blending of styles. Silver exemplifies the use of multiple materials to explore the line between the physical and the cognitive, examining the emotional impact of various representations of the body.

Tacita Dean’s Trying to Find the Spiral Jetty, 1998 at Soho Square stands to be another highlight. In this sound piece, the artist attempts to find traces of Robert Smithton’s well-renowned earthwork, using only faxed directions from the Utah Arts Council.

Summer Breeze is set to be among the most complex and challenging of the summer’s exhibitions.
