Elvis on Tour: The Exhibition, The O2 Centre
Landing at The 02 this November, a huge collection of Elvis memorabilia hops over the Atlantic for the Elvis on Tour exhibition
Back by popular demand, the Elvis on Tour exhibition will return to The O2 on 3 November for a three-month stint.
The roaring success of the 2014-5 exhibition definitively proved that, 40 years on from his death, the ‘King of Rock ’n’ Roll’ continues to reign. He also still manages to rein in the crowds; more than 200,000 people visited the original exhibition to catch a glimpse of Graceland's treasures.
In true Elvis fashion, this exhibition promises to be bigger and better than the last, with an eclectic assemblage of 200 items from the Memphis museum, the rock legend’s old family home and incidentally the second most-visited house in America after the White House.
Among the memorabilia on display, much of which has been keep under wraps for years, will be Elvis' flamboyant jumpsuits — along with the bills for dry cleaning and repair — a golden microphone, that knock-out Las Vegas belt and even a recreation of the inside of his private jet.
The exhibition focuses in particular on his touring years, from 1969-77. Costumes and items seen in the 1972 Golden Globe-winning documentary Elvis on Tour will take centre stage.
If you are a fan, or just curious to get a peek behind the persona, then get yourself down to The 02, because Elvis is back in the building.
Tickets go on sale on 18 August.
