Banksy's Dismaland hits London
Following the success of Banksy's Dismaland in Weston-super-mare, a hit installation from the art project pops up in Hackney Wick
Get ready London: Dismaland, the Banksy exhibition that had 15,000 people making pilgrimage to Weston-super-mare last year, has hit Hackney Wick. Inverting the lightness of your typical theme park, Banksy's conceptual art project is gleefully dystopian.
Londoners will now get the chance get a taste of Dismaland with an installation by radical artist Jimmy Cauty, who became famous when he shockingly burnt the sum of one million pounds in 1994.
The Dismaland installation on display will be 'Aftermath Dislocation Principle', a model town which depicts a chaotic, cityscape with dilapidated infrastructure. Strikingly foreboding, the dystopia is surveyed by 3000 model policemen and lit by the glare of police car headlights.

Just one week after Brexit, Cauty's piece pertinently imagines a world in the midst of confusion and disorder.
'Aftermath Dislocation Principle' is on display in a 40ft shipping container outside Crate Brewery until Friday 1 July. Nearest station Hackney Wick overground.
