Art History UK: Kenwood House Champagne Picnic and Tour

Set on the edge of Hampstead Heath, Kenwood House is among London’s most beautiful stately homes, an eighteenth century neoclassical villa set amid acres of parkland and gardens decorated with modernist sculpture. The interior is also home to an impressive collection of artwork, including pieces by the likes of Vermeer and Turner.

On May 8, Art History UK invites you to a champagne picnic and tour. Pop a bottle and enjoy a leisurely lunch before heading inside to take in the art (there’s a particularly special Rembrandt on show). With expert guidance, you’ll not only learn about paintings’ histories but also about the story of the house itself and of William Murray, the first Earl of Mulgrave, who played a key role in the movement to abolish slavery.

For those of you who are concerned about the unpredictable British weather, rest assured: a plan B is in place.
