This time, it's a drama that will shine a light on the ethical concerns surrounding true crime podcasts.
Based on the novel by the same name, Are You Sleeping stars Witherspoon and Octavia Spencer (Gifted, The Shape of Water) in a thriller inspired by America's obsession with popular true crime documentaries and podcasts, such as Serial, My Favourite Murder and Sword & Scale.
The psychological thriller, written by Kathleen Barber, is the story of one woman who spent years trying to normalise her life and escape the media spotlight after her father was murdered. When a new true crime podcast investigating her father's murderer comes out, our protagonists' life thrown back into disarray.
Designed to explore the criticism levelled at true life documentaries and podcasts, the drama jumps headfirst into the ethical quagmire surrounding true life thrillers and the effects they have on the lives of the people who love and know both suspects and victims.
