The Big Screen returns to the picturesque courtyard of well-loved West London restaurant Bluebird this year to screen the Rio Olympics. With its selection of great cocktails and range of adventurous dishes, Bluebird provides its entertainment with a sophisticated edge. Reservations for the courtyard cannot be made unless you're a member, so we recommend arriving early to nab a good table.

London Bridge City Summer Festival, London Bridge

This big screen at this diverse festival, which spans across June to October, will be one of the Official Team GB Fanzones that are spread across the nation's biggest cities for fans to enjoy the Olympics communally. In the very heart of London between Tower Bridge and London Bridge, this venue promises a vibrant and buzzing atmosphere for sports fans to flock to.

Brazilian Embassy, Charing Cross





Throughout the Olympics the Brazilian embassy, set just off of Trafalgar Square, will be opening its doors to the public to visit its Rio Lounge. Sports fans are invited to watch the games on the big screen, whilst getting involved in activities based around the culture of Brazil and learn more about the hosting country. This is a rare opportunity for Londoners to step inside the embassy and experience an authentic viewing experience of the events.

Brazil Day, Trafalgar Square

The closing ceremony on 22nd August certainly won't spell an end to the sporting celebrations. To round off the Olympics, and in anticipation of the Paralympic games, Trafalgar Square is set to be taken over by Brazilian-inspired revelry. On Saturday 10th September, the square will play host to an afternoon of Rio-inspired music, DJs, sport, food and drink. Between 12-7pm, enjoy a carnival atmosphere with the beats of the bossa nova and samba, while you sample the Brazilian churrasco barbecue and street food treats. Super sports fans can try their hand at interactive games, while highlights of the Olympic games will be shown on the big screen.

Eat here: Brazilian fusion at Sushisamba, Bishopsgate

Get excited: more Brazilian eateries are cropping up across the capital than ever before, and we love it. Enjoy the informal experience of Notting Hill's Rodizio Rico, where waiters theatrically flourish skewers of grilled meats to tempt customers, or the homely vibe of Made in Brasil, Camden. But for something a little more high-end, old favourite Sushisamba, which serves food inspired by a unique blend of Brazilian, Japanese and Peruvian cuisines, is the perfect place to get your Rio food fix in a delightfully refined setting.

Be whisked away in the flamboyant interior of Floripa, a brash, bold but oh so fabulous bar in this buzzing East London area whose decor is inspired by Brazilian nightlife, adorned with plastic parrots and flurries of feathers. Not the most tasteful bar, but definitely entertaining, Floripa is a fun and atmospheric place to sip on a caipirinha on a Saturday night to celebrate Rio hosting the games.

Visit here: Brazil Festival, Horniman Museum

Be transported to Brazil without leaving London with a visit to the Horniman Museum's summer exhibition. This South London spot celebrates the richness of Brazilian culture with a series of installations, festivals, dance shows and specially-comissioned street art running until September. The street art is a particular highlight, with the likes of acclaimed artist Ananda Nahu included in the exhibition.

Running throughout the Olympic games, 'Rio in Dalston' have hosted a series of Rio-themed events in the heart of the London borough of Hackney. The final, free, event takes place from 3:30pm this Thursday 18th with a Muhammad Ali tribute night around Gillett Square. Celebrating Self-Expression, Ohara Davies will participate in a boxing/poetry combo event, and a photography exhibition will be on display. Ali's friend, Christina Jansen, will be also sitting down for a discussion, and there will be a screening of the men's light heavyweight final.
