Animals out at dusk is one of the most exciting times to see them: Lions in the newLand of the Lions enclosure prowling around one last time, giraffes settling down, the squark of bats and other nocturnal animals who are just waking up and preparing for long the night ahead. Families this half term can experience the magic of the London Zoo animals after-hours, away from the usual day time crowds and hot summer sun, when the animals are at their most relaxed and taking themselves off to bed. Sunset Safari opens on the last weekend of half term.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Muggle theatres are in for a magical treat: after years of whispers, a Harry Potter West End show is here. The Boy Who Lived is back and all grown up. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child premieres at London's Palace Theatre in summer 2016 with a new story focusing on Albus Severus Potter.
When Marnie Was There, Film

When Marnie Was There is based on a children's book, in this case Joan G. Robinson's Young Adult novel of the same name. Shifting Robinson’s narrative intact from its landscape of Norfolk to rural Japan, When Marnie Was There tells the story of Anna, an anxiety-stricken teenager sent to live with her aunt and uncle in a remote seaside town.

The Lyric Hammersmith's 2015 production of Bugsy Malone was our favourite children's show of the year. So we're thrilled that a stupendously talented troupe of youngsters will once again transform the Lyric stage into a speakeasy.

This May half term the LPO and Globe Education are producing a special musical version of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Royal Festival Hall. As well as a magical, enchanting production full of magic, confusion and silliness, there are free musical activities happening for little ones all around the building, offering fun and interactive way-in to the concert, and opportunities for children to 'have a go' at different orchestral instruments under expert instruction.
