New Band Aid single 2014, released 15th November to combat the Ebola crisis
Bob Geldof, Band Aid and new charity single are phrases that are fast becoming synonymous with each other. Culture Whisper is excited to support Band Aid 30, who have recorded a new cover of the original Band Aid song, in order to raise money to combat the Ebola crisis. The opening lines, sung by One Direction, are followed by contributions from the best singers of 2014 as well as golden oldies. Emeli Sande, Rita Ora and Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, Chris Martin and Bono have all contributed to the reworked version of Do They Know It's Christmas?
Whilst the content has stayed almost exactly the same, some lines from the original have been replaced. The most notable change is Bono's famous 'well tonight thank God it's them, instead of you', now rewritten as 'well tonight we're reaching out and touching you'.
The "rough edit" of the song will debut at the X Factor finals this Sunday, at 8pm. It will be available to download from Monday 24th November and will cost 99p.
