Happy Coconut, Brixton Cornercopia

Malaysia comes to South London this week for Happy Coconut: a blink-and-you'll-miss-it Brixton pop up restaurant.

Laksa
Brixton's Cornercopia has always been about local produce and local suppliers – 'the furthest afield of our chutney makers is from Croyden', they proudly announce – but this coming weekend they are casting the net a little further afield, and opening their doors to Happy Coconut, a new Malaysian-themed venture offering the finest laksa, a spicy noodle soup flavoured with sesame, chilli and coconut, and an a la carte selection of asian-style dippers.

Happy Coconut is born out of Home from Home, an exciting supperclub that also runs workshops for female food entrepreneurs. Malay cuisine is close to the heart for founder Yohini Nandakumar, and have featured in previous supperclub editions, so you can be sure the experience will be an authentic one. Accompanying the laksa is an interesting drinks line-up (the Tamarind and Sugarcane Rum Punch sounds enticing), and both are complimented by an equally tempting dessert selection, featuring coconut cheesecake with poached caramel peanuts.

Open til 9.30pm Thursday to Saturday, there's only a brief window in which to catch this exciting new venture, and you can be sure that demand will be high. Get in touch soon to avoid disappointment!

Booking information can be found here, on home-from-home.net.
