Startup Weekend London: Transforming the Arts in just 52 hours
Technology meets art in this action packed weekend where budding entrepreneurs race to produce the best new technological product for the arts sector
Do you have an idea about how the arts world could be improved with an innovative new use of technology? If so, take a look at the Startup Weekend Art London which promises to be an intense and action packed 52 hours. The Startup Weekend began in 2007 and is all about packing together in one weekend the daunting and seemingly never-ending process of entrepreneurship.
Following the success of previous Startup Weekends, the Startup Weekend is now tackling the culture sphere with a vision to transform the arts in just 52 hours. Coming from the idea that the arts world is lacking in technological support and innovation, it invites you to explore and develop the way in which we see, use, market, interact with and display art.
During the weekend you’ll hear from participants who have come armed with an idea, after which teams will form, working together to produce a minimum viable product and having the chance to speak with experts in the field before presenting their idea to a panel of judges on Sunday.
The event is happening this coming weekend and is not cheap at £90 a ticket, but for the possibility of a career launching product this may seem like no price to pay at all. Tickets fall under the categories of ‘designer’, ‘developer’ and ‘non-technical’, so if you write code, design graphics or want to be part of the PR or marketing of a product this event may well be a very profitable way to spend your coming weekend.
