Peter Pan, National Theatre
The National Theatre's big family Christmas show is Peter Pan - as you've never seen him before. Playfulness is at the heart shapes production and Neverland is created from found objects. Expect laughter and a few warm and fuzzy feelings without any cheesiness.
Availability: Very limited in the week prior to Christmas. Tickets still generally available for early December, late January and early February.

Dust off your glass slippers! Your fairy godmothers at Culture Whisper have the sassiest, starriest panto in town.
Usually the stuff of regional town halls, this big-budget West End version of a panto is not short of sparkle, with a cast including Amanda Holden, Paul O'Grady and Lee Mead. Don't expect classy but don't be surprised if you end up hollering 'he's behind you' with the kiddies.
Availability: Limited in the week prior to Christmas. Widely available Christmas week through to January.
The Little Matchgirl, Sam Wanamaker Playhouse
With flickering candles and a cosy carved wood interior, the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at the Globe might just be the most magical spot in London. This year you can enjoy the most bittersweet of festive tale. Hans Christian Anderson's heart-wrenching The Little Matchgirl is adapted for the stage by director Emma Rice. Expect charm and imagination a-plenty.
Availability: Limited availability late November and early December. Tickets still widely available from 20th December.
