Market Hall, Victoria
Market Hall launches Victoria food hall in the bays of Terminus Place
Foodies, listen up, there’s a new market in town. Do
you remember Pacha, the London spin-off of the Ibiza super club, situated in a
former bus depot in the Victoria district? The club shut its doors for the
final time in 2014, which freed up Terminus
Place for a brand-new venture: Market Hall (from the founders of Market Hall Fulham). The team have converted the abandoned bays
into the ultimate foodie’s paradise. One of the largest food halls in the UK, it
contains eleven kitchens, a coffee shop and three bars all spread over three
floors.
Bun Shop, Market Hall Victoria
The original line-up of traders includes: Nonna Tonda, which serves handmade pasta dishes inspired by chef Jamie French’s travels through Italy; Baozi Inn, which provides Londoners with authentic Northern Chinese street food; and Squirrel, which caters to all dietary requirements with its freshly-made, nutritionally-balanced dishes. Fans of Market Hall Fulham will be pleased to hear that familiar faces Press Coffee, Fanny's Kebabs and Super Tacos will be opening new branches in Victoria. We, at Culture Whisper, are especially tempted by the Welsh Rarebit stuffed buns on offer at Bun Shop, described by the Financial Times as ‘the most important thing to happen in the area since the jellying of the first eel’.

The building itself is well-worth a visit. The Market Hall team have restored it to its former glory, revealing the previously-hidden period features of the Edwardian arcade and repairing the stained-glass windows. The company has a reputation for setting up shop in unloved but culturally important buildings and are showing no signs of stopping (their next venture in the West End will be the largest food hall in the UK). They are continuously working to improve the customer's experience, and are currently in the process of launching an app which will shorten queuing times and reward loyal customers.
The Bar, Market Hall Victoria
The market is not just for food aficionados; craft beer enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy. The bars all champion British, independent alcohol companies. Six craft beers will be available on draught, with an additional 20 in bottles and cans. There will even be the home-brewed Market Helles on offer. Not to mention the roof terrace, capable of seating 100 people, which will open in Spring 2019, just in time for sipping cocktails in the sun.
Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM | Saturdays: 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM | Sundays: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM (kitchens close on hour before closing)
