Spanning refugees, feminism, and cold blooded murder: the new David Hare cop thriller on the BBC well deserves to have Hollywood superstar Carey Mulligan at the helm.
The four-part police thriller follows DI Kip Glaspie (Mulligan), who comes up against Karen (played brilliantly by Billie Piper and a Labour MP (John Simm) as she tries to get to the truth behind the murder of an illegal immigrant and pizza delivery boy.

Mike Bartlett is the mastermind who wrote Doctor Foster for the BBC.
His brilliant three-part psychological thriller follows two fathers: Dan (John Simm – who incredibly also stars in Collateral on BBC Two at the same time) and Jon (Adrian Leicester). Their lives collide when Dan's 15 year-old son Alex is unexpectedly stabbed and dies in the trauma department under consultant Jon Allerton's care.
This is an excellent story of malevolence, culpability and deceit. Dan brings all the cold, calculating cruelty and investigative prowess of Doctor Foster to a man hellbent on the destruction of a richer, better educated, more middle class man.
