She Would Walk The Sky, Roundhouse

Have you heard of Fuerzabruta? The fastest-selling show of the Roundhouse’s history? An extraordinary spectacle of acrobats and music and crazed, technicolour energy? If you haven’t seen it yet, we strongly recommend you do. It is amazing.

Following on from Fuerzabruta’s success, the Roundhouse is hosting a season of shows in a similar mould – circus, acrobatics, daredevil exploits that leave your heart in your mouth and your body flooded with excitement. She Would Walk The Sky is one of these productions, brought to London by the company behind the global smash-hit Cantina. It is a chance to escape the real world and delve headlong into a magical world that demonstrates the extraordinary physical feats the human body is capable of in a way that is, quite literally, mind-blowing.

The story of the She Would Walk The Sky is this: a small black box has been discovered, in which there is a book – a book with old, yellowing pages, on which words of an arcane and unknown language are written. The cast have done the hard work of translating it for us; the result is an epic poem told in "grand circus, raw sound and sparse, beautiful words", set to a soundtrack by a thrilling live band. The renowned circus artist Cheslea McGuffin directs, joined by award-winning Australian playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer

She Would Walk The Sky is, at this time, a new production. We suggest that you see it before it becomes a “must-see” – and then you can say, smugly, that you saw it first. Book now for a thrilling evening. We know that you will love it.
