Edible Stories, Library
Immersive dining experience Edible Stories comes to Library, St Martin's Lane to recreate the West End's best musicals with food, props and entertainment.
There’s nothing quite like a West End show, and this event is like nothing you’ll have seen before.
Edible Stories invites Londoners to experience their favourite musicals through taste, with a culinary adventure to accompany them. This creative four week pop up at Library in St Martin's Lane brings, in conjunction with immersive company Edible Stories, a series of theatrical gastronomic events with a lavish attention to detail to rival the shows themselves.
Each of the four weeks will play host to a different show, with key moments from the productions brought to life through food, drink, props and production from the local theatre companies themselves. There will also be a unique and richly designed set aimed at fully drawing diners into the world of each production.
On the menu
The menu, which is presented in comic book form by artist Neil Gibson, will guide diners through the immersive experience by narrating the evening, which features cocktails, props – and of course some wonderful food.
Think Charlie & the Chocolate Factory's Golden Ticket – with spiked and nutty poached rhubarb – or an intriguing French vermouth and Buffalo Trace induced mulled mint & sage bite to evoke the revolutionary days of Les Miserables.
The hard part is deciding which to see: in addition to Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and Les Mis, they're also recreating Phantom of The Opera and Matilda for lucky ears, eyes and tastebuds.
Library, St Martin's Lane
This series of events is taking place in collaboration with St Martin's Lane members club Library, and grants curious Londoners an excuse to peek through the doors of one of London's most exclusive venues. Following dinner, guests are also invited to continue the evening in one of Library's popular bars.
The evenings will offer foodies and musical lovers a chance to draw themselves deeper into the vibrant world of these West End shows, and inviting them to release their inner child, as Edible Stories recreates the world of London's best loved musicals.
The £65 ticket price includes a four course meal, plus pre and post dinner cocktails. It's reduced to £55 if you hold a theatre ticket to one of the shows, and Library members enjoy a £20 discount.
