Neville’s Island, Duke of York’s Theatre
Four of Birtain’s most successful television comedians are uniting on the West End this autumn in Tim Firth’s Neville’s Island.
Following a a critically-acclaimed run at the Chichester Festival Theatre, the production sees four hapless businessmen attempt a corporate team-building exercise in the Lake District. As wildlife and weather begin to take their toll, what started as a bonding exercise turns into a hilarious battle of wits and waterproofs.
Television comedians migrating to the stage can sometimes elicit an unanimous groan from audiences and reviewers alike, yet the comedic pedigree of Neville’s Island cannot be denied; starring Adrian Edmondson (The Young Ones), Miles Jupp (The Thick of It), Neil Morrissey (Men Behaving Badly) and Robert Webb (Peep Show), and with seasoned director Angus Jackson at the helm, this West End transfer promises to be just as slick as its brilliantly reviewed Chichester predecessor.
