ONE, Battersea Arts Centre
Hilarious double act Bertrand Lesca and Nasi Voutsas return to Battersea Arts centre with One, the final part in a trilogy about the difficulty of relationships
Brexit, Boris, fake news. There's no doubt we're living in increasingly surreal times. Step in Bertrand Lesca and Nasi Voutsas whose new show ONE sees them attempt to conquer what divides them in a polarised world. Featuring a ladder, tap-dancing and more than a bit of swearing the pair bring their unique blend of humour, brutality and clowning to tackle the strains of relationships in a way that has the audience teetering on the edge of their seats.
Following on from the success of the internationally acclaimed Palmyra and Eurohouse, Bert and Nasi return to Battersea Arts Centre with the third part in their trilogy, One. Will the double act manage to reconcile?
The show opens with Bert attempting to persuade Nasi down from a ladder. With Nasi refusing to budge, Bert must use any tactic at his disposal, navigating the stage on his own and drafting in some help from the audience. Squabbles, one-upmanship and insults abound offering some light relief (and perhaps direct parallels) to these fractious political times.
How will it end? You decide as you laugh, think and consider how we might better understand one another. All performances of the show will be relaxed, meaning audience members are free to move around and make noise in the space.
Didn't catch the first two parts of the trilogy or want to watch them again? On Saturday 19 October, Bert and Nasi present the full trilogy of shows, offering a rare chance to see the double act's journey play out in full.
