Games for Lovers, The Vaults
Four millennials looking for love and a place to live find themselves in a complicated web of desire and rivalry in this new site-specific play
Playwright Ryan Craig (Filthy Business, Hampstead Theatre) invites us into a distinctly millennial romance in new play Games for Lovers, which premieres at the The Vaults theatre.
It follows four twenty-somethings looking for someone to love and somewhere to live. They search for a well-located and affordable flat and attempt to negotiate the ever-changing rules of modern relationships, but instead the foursome fall a game rivalry, seduction and sex.
The lovers / gamers are played by a cast of stage and screen regulars, including Calum Callaghan (Black Mirror and Mr Selfridge), and Evanna Lynch (Disco Pigs in the West End, Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films).
The complex tangle of emotions and comedy plays out in a specially-built pop-up space within The Vaults below Waterloo station. Rather than a conventional auditorium, this performance space is designed to take audiences into the heart of the action.
