Hip-hop, circus acts, breakdancing and acrobatic skills: Cirque Éloize comes to Sadler's Wells London with iD
Cirque Éloize, Peacock Theatre REVIEW: Culture Whisper says: ★★★★★
This is one for the family. Canadian contemporary circus crew Cirque Éloize returns to the West End with iD, an awe-inspiring, if at times unpolished, show blending circus performances, street dance and hip hop into an evening of daring stunts and dazzling theatricality.
The solo and duo acts in particular are spectacular. Watch out for the contortionist and her beautiful routine, in which she dangles from the roof in a curtain and fall in love with the roller skaters, who dance almost like ballerinas.
Cirque Éloize’s cast members have garnered international prestige since the group formed in 1993 and, despite the flaws of the group's most recent show, tickets are sure to be snapped up fast. Now in its 8th edition, this is the first time that the group has incorporated a backdrop of striking kaleidoscopic video projections and energetic music into iD, adding to the show’s already electrifying atmosphere of modernity.
Held in the wonderful Sadler’s Wells West End venue, this fun family show will is celebrating its 1000th performance having previously toured the world and visited countries including South Africa, Japan and Mexico.
