Childbirth is at once individual and utterly universal. All are born, but all experiences of birth are different. The Donmar Warehouse explores the complexities and emotions surrounding birth in a limited-run relaxed workshop performance.

Actors-turned-new mothers Michelle Terry and Rosalie Craig share their memories of and reactions to giving birth, six months ago. Expect a candid and thought-provoking discussion, which combines their shared talent for bringing emotions to life in front of an audience with a candid perspective on becoming a mother.

Daytime performances times (11am and 1pm), free tea and cake plus a 'babes in arms are more than welcome' audience policy may suggest a theatrical experiment aimed at new mums, but the subject matter is likely to chime with all.

The conversation will continue after the performance, as audience members are invited to stay around and share their views. Then, later this year, the conversation will be revisited as part of a Becoming: Part One podcast.

Note that the workshop takes place at the Donmar's rehearsal space – 3 Dryden Street, London WC2E 9NA – rather than the Donmar Warehouse Theatre on Earlham Street.
