The Almeida Theatre has announced an adaptation of Maxim Gorky’s Vassa Zheleznova will conclude its 2019 season. Vassa is hardly one of Gorky’s better known plays, but with Mike Bartlett (King Charles III) at the helm, this prelude of the Russian Revolution may have finally found its voice.
