TEDx Women, London 2017
Hallelujah, it's raining inspirational women as the TEDx series returns to Whitehall, Covent Garden and UCL this November.
TED started life as a small conference discussing Technology, Entertainment and Design. Since then it has grown to incorporate the vast variety of talks we know so well, from business trends to happiness. You name it, they’ve done it, and we’ve probably watched it on Facebook.
The TedxWomen series coming to London in November is part of TED’s local branch of idea-spreading – TEDx – where speakers engage with communities in a combination of engaging lecture and classic TED video content. TEDWomen aims to inform and spark great conversations with gender and women as a focus.
Three events come to London in conjunction with the TEDWomen conference in New Orleans, some of which will be live-streamed.
TEDxWhitehallWomen: 3 November
Coming to an exciting, yet-to-be-confirmed location on the 3rd of November, this will be the 5th TEDxWhitehallWomen. The event is organised by Ruth Shaw, a board member of Women in Football, and Simone Roche, the founder of Northern Power Women. With Roche a self-dubbed ‘serial connectrepeneur’ at the helm, TEDxWhitehallWomen should be replete with interesting speakers from the business world and more.

TEDxCoventGarden: 4 November
Entrepreneurs, activists, creatives and leaders come to together at Vue Cinema in the West End to share their combined wisdom on the theme of making, breaking and crossing bridges.

TEDxUCLWomen: 5 November
This event focuses on the achievements and wisdom of some of University College London’s most remarkable women. Their first event was ‘unbound’ and since then TEDxUCLwomen have featured an inclusive breadth of talks celebrating all efforts to break down barriers caused by gender and its intersecting oppressions. This year, the theme of home is up for discussion and speakers include intersectional feminist and equality consultant Guilaine Kinouani and vlogger Grace Victory.
