Talk: Are We There Yet? By Dr. Anne Robinson, Gallery Elena Shchukina
Eminent art academic and theorist Anne Robinson's response to Amélie Ducommun's paintings will focus on perceptions of temporality in the paint surface
When do we arrive in the moment of painting… and what happens next?
Anne Robinson holds a practice-led PhD in Fine Art entitled The Elusive Digital Frame and the Elasticity of Time in Painting and is the author of several papers and articles on temporality in art, including a forthcoming piece on Auerbach for the Journal of Contemporary Painting.
Concerned primarily with the perception and politics of time passing, she will be looking at and elaborating on the works of French-Swiss artist Amélie Ducommun, whose paintings are concerned with memory, time and the emotion of place.
