Saoirse Ronan, BFI
At London Film Festival, Saoirse Ronan, Oscar-nominated star of Atonement and The Lovely Bones discusses he work
Irish actor Saoirse Ronan was sheer perfection in her breakthrough role as Briony Tallis, in Joe Wright's 2007 Atonement. At just 13, her performance was measured, rich and subtle. It earned her a BAFTA and Academy Award nomination. Hollywood beckoned its manicured finger, and Ronan has gone to star in a host of films, most notably Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones and Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel.
We'll see her next in Brooklyn, where she plays Ellis; an Irish émigrée in New York, torn between the her new life in the Big City and the green pastures of her past. Critics have praised her performance universally.
On October 11, Ronan comes to the BFI to discuss her career as part of the London Film Festival. Don't miss your chance to hear one of the most intelligent and understatedly brilliant actors of our time.
