T S Eliot's Poetry: 50th Anniversary talk

T S Eliot is widely regarded as one of the twentieth century’s greatest modernists who penned and outstandingly rich body of work that still adorns GCSE and A Level syllabuses to this day. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of this visionary poet’s death, the British Library is hosting a special talk in T S Eliot’s honour.
On 12 October, join editors Christopher Ricks and Jim McCue for a discussion of their new edition of Eliot’s poetry, The Poems of T S Eliot (Faber & Faber). The literary critics will shed light on their efforts to establish an authoritative text on the Nobel Prize winner. Their volume comprises little known TS Eliot poems from his youth, which were only in private circulation during his lifetime.
The talk will also attempt to enter this genius’ psyche through musings on Eliot’s working processes, reading, influences and poetic vision.
Dust off your copy of Prufrock, re-familiarise yourself with The Wasteland and head over to the British Library website to get your ticket for what’s set to be one of autumn’s biggest literary events.
