Peter Bradshaw: The Mystery of Audrey Hepburn, National Portrait Gallery

Peter Bradshaw, chief film critic of The Guardian since 1999, is deconstructing the mysterious appeal, look and sound of Audrey Hepburn as part of a programme of events surrounding the National Portrait Gallery’s latest exhibition: Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon. 
Leading with a quote from Audrey Hepburn's most famous film, Breakfast at Tiffany's “How Do I Look?” (“very good”, came the limp reply from Audrey’s romantic interest), Bradshaw will be examining her best on-screen moments and drawing out those tantalising filmic qualities that made Hepburn an international icon - powerful enough to tempt the National Portrait Gallery into hosting an exhibition dedicated to photographs of her image 22 years following her death.
