You are never too old for Just William. Richmal Crompton’s scruffy, mischievous prank-happy schoolboy first appeared in 1922 and has been a firm favourite of the children’s literature canon ever since. With a series of books, television, film and radio adaptations to his name, young William Brown and his naughty gang of friends, The Outlaws, have an enduring appeal for children and adults alike.
So for his many fans, this event will be a welcome celebration of these good old-fashioned adventure stories. One of Kings Place’s series of regular ‘Word/Play’ Sunday Coffee Concerts – devised and presented by renowned pianist Lucy Parham – this will be a delightful medley of civilized storytelling and music. The ticket price includes a cup of coffee or tea, and guests can then settle down to enjoy the Just William stories performed by acclaimed actor Martin Jarvis, with piano accompaniment from Richard Sisson. All in all, a very enjoyable way to spend a Sunday lunchtime.
Ticket price: £14.50 (Concs: £9.50)
