Q&A with Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson, The Tricycle

As part of the British Screen Classics series, Kilburn's Tricycle cinema is screening the 1995 classic film adaption of Sense and Sensibility -- and inviting its star actors Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman to reflect on their experience of making the film, its subsequent success and their dazzlingly impressive careers since.
As well as her starring turn as Elinor Dashwood, Emma Thompson also shaped the film by adapting Jane Austen's novel and writing the screenplay, which won her the 1995 Oscar for best screenplay. Rickman's characteristic drawl is wonderfully employed to  playing the austere but kind Colonel Brandon. This charming love story is both an intelligent adaptation of classic literature and a vehicle for some of Britain's most prestigious actors: Hugh Grant, Kate Winslet, Imogen Stubbs, Hugh Laurie, Imelda Staunton and Greg Wise make up the stupendously talented cast.
