The Royal Society of Literature and Faber Social invite you to a book launch with a difference. To celebrate the publication of Andrew O'Hagan's new novel, a panel of literary big wigs have gathered together to present an evening of readings, performance and music.

The fifth novel from Irish author and journalist Andrew O'Hagan, The Illuminations (publication date: 5th feb) explores love and loss in the context of contemporary britain, family ties and the war in Afghanistan. In this one off book launch event the questions raised by this story of modern war will be explored through a variety of media. Kamilia Shamsie, A God in Every Stone author, will compere a programme of performances and readings from Mercury winning performance poet, rapper and author Kate Tempest, Playwright and poet Edna O'Brien and O'Hagan himself. Music will come from folk singer James Yorkston.
