Elaine Feinstein
Elaine Feinstein: poetry and academia
Elaine Feinstein, now in her eighties, is a poet and academic who has been quietly influential in the literary sphere for half a century. She is known in academic circles for her seminal essay on Ophelia, arguing for more a Feminist interpretation, and known as a poet for beautiful, intricately constructed poems which are Romantic whilst also very tangible.
Her Russian-Jewish heritage is an important part of her work, and her translations of the Russian poets Anna Akhmatova and Marina Tsvataeva are still the standard English language versions, introducing non-Russian speaking audiences to two powerful chroniclers of a Russia in transition from Imperial to Soviet.

Sean Borodale, Poet
This distinguished lady of letters is paired with Sean Borodale, a young poet at the start of what promises a similarly successful career. Currently a Creative Writing Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge, his second collection of poetry, Human Work, will be published in February 2015. Like his previous work, he pursues an interest in traditional activities (whether farming, beekeeping or in this case, cooking) and their relationship with the modern world.
