David Mitchell
David Mitchell is famed for his droll wit, intelligence and innate awkwardness. Along with fellow comedian  Robert Webb, Mitchell is part of the comedy duo behind cult Channel 4 sitcom  Peep Show. His role of loveable loser Mark Corrigan won Mitchell a  BAFTA  and an army of enamoured fans.
Mitchell's quick quips make him a firm favourite as both host and contestant on a range of comedy panel shows, including Have I Got News For You?Q.I. and Would I Lie To You?
Mitchell's popular weekly columns for the Observer have been collected in this new book, along with some original thoughts. Thinking About it Only Makes it Worse explores the foibles of everyday life, and their capacity to cause stress, discomfort and panic. "Is there anything to be done about the internet?" Mitchell ruefully asks; "Why is every film and TV programme a sequel or a remake?" he bemoans.
John Lanchester
John Lanchester is seeking to bridge the divide between “the money people” and the rest of us. Whoops! Why Everyone Owes Everyone and No One Can Pay was a bestselling, hilarious and accessible account of the economic crisis, and announced Lanchester as one of Britain’s leading popular economists.
His latest book How to Speak Money is an attempt to explain the language of money, from the terms and conditions of your personal checking account to the evasions of bankers appearing before court. Bitingly witty, Lanchester cuts straight to the heart of some of society’s most pressing economic concerns in comic style.
Mitchell and Lanchester will be discussing the manifold issues raised in their latest books, offering humorous insights and lively debate.
