Dame Julie Andrews will make an exclusive live appearance at the Southbank Centre to discuss her new memoir: Home Work: A Memoir of My Hollywood Years.
Andrews shot to fame in her breakout stage role as Eliza Doolittle in the original Broadway production of My Fair Lady. Since then, her voice has become one of the most recognisable on stage and on screen and is associated with some of the most famous musical soundtracks of all time. Listen to the octogenarian actor look back over her illustrious career spanning over half a century as she recounts her experiences playing a magical nanny in her first feature film, Mary Poppins, the free-spirited Maria in The Sound of Music and her regal roles in the The Princess Diaries and the Shrek franchises.
The Academy Award-winning actor will discuss her memoir in conversation of Olivier Award-winning actor Alex Jennings as part of the Southbank Autumn Literature season. Tickets will go on sale to Southbank Centre Members at 10am on Tuesday 30 July and public tickets will go on sale at 10am on Wednesday 31 July. Excitingly, each ticket will include a hardback copy of Home Work: A Memoir of My Hollywood Years.
