Tosca
Puccini's most dramatic opera in this splendid production by Jonathan Kent never ceases to thrill. With breathtaking set pieces and matchless music, it is the perfect opera for new-comers and addicts alike. Listen out for rising tenor Freddie De Tommaso as artist Cavaradossi at some performances, prime tenor Bryan Hymel at others. Several sopranos sing Tosca, including Angela Gheorghiu.

Romeo and Juliet

Theodora
Eagerly awaited new production of Handel's very powerful opera stars the incomparable Joyce DiDonato (pictured) as Irene, the friend of Theodora (soprano Julia Bullock), a young woman persecuted for her beliefs. An all-star cast in this moving drama includes tenor Ed Lyon and scintillating Polish counter-tenor Jakub Józef Orliński, making his role and Covent Garden debut.
