Faust - Royal Opera House

Celebrating its tenth birthday, David McVicar’s production of Gounod’s Faust sets its bombastic goings-on in the heart of 1870s Paris in the build-up to the Franco-Prussian war. While the opera itself is firmly embedded in the repertoire, this production is particularly notable for Charles Edwards’ breathtaking scenery. 

To complement Gounod's classic re-telling upstairs, there is a modern interpretation of Faust downstairs at the Royal Opera House. If you fancy a performance of Faust and are a fan of new music, why not opt for young English composer Luke Bedford’s hotly anticipated Through His Teeth, which will be opening at the Lindbury Studio Theatre on the 3rd April. The opera will be performed by fantastic contemporary music specialists CHROMA and is guaranteed to showcase the talents of one of the most exciting composers of our age.
