Handel's Messiah (Part 1), The Little Orchestra
The Little Orchestra is celebrating classic music and bringing back 'the relaxed, social context that used to belong to music historically'. Next up, Handel's Messiah
If the idea of a traditional classical concert venue seems intimidating, or you just fancy something different for the evening, consider taking a trip to The Little Orchestra.
Dotted around London in intimate and unique venues, the team prides their inception on events that stand out from the crowd without losing the irreplaceable prestige of the music. Artistic Director Nicholas Little explains that events by The Little Orchestra want to 'bring back the relaxed, social context that used to belong to music historically'.
Inspiring, magical music performed by an orchestra of young musicians sets the scene which then offers guests an experience complete with a convivial atmosphere: non-classical venues, a range of refreshments and a network of like-minded people.
Once settled in the comfortable sofas of The Little Orchestra's beautifully designed venues, you can just sit back and enjoy the music which transcends the limitations of any venue. This gives way to mingling after the performance, with an atmosphere encouraging festivities with food and drink, letting you meet new friends who share the same love.
Just in time for Christmas, The Little Orchestra is offering Culture Whisper members an exclusive free drink when they book to see Messiah, Part One. The 1741 oratorio is now one of the best-known and most frequently performed choral works in Western music.
Handel's original Christmas tale will come to life at Porchester Hall, complete with seasonal treats bound to melt anyone's icy heart.
