September Lifestyle Edit
From the sustainable restaurant set to shake up London to the two exhibitions that will be on every art-loving Londoner's lips
Art...
... William Blake: The Artist at Tate Britain.
Painter, print-maker, political thinker and poet, William Blake is thought of by some as the greatest artist to have ever been produced by Britain. This September an exhibition will bring together more than three hundred of his works, foregrounding his technical innovations as well as his place in Britain’s artistic tradition. A rare chance to explore the beautiful mind of a luminous visionary.

Eat...
.... at zero-waste eatery Silo.
A slick, sustainable restaurant brings its zero-waste ethos from Brighton to east London this autumn, after five years of huge critical acclaim. At Silo, glasses are recycled back into sand for crockery and an on-site brewery turns unused herbs and plants into fermented drinks. They even churn their own butter and mill their own flour. Expect smoked violet carrots with egg yolks and elephant garlic, an eye-wateringly cool crowd, and a crystal clear conscience when you leave.

Federíco Garcia Lorca's tale of feuding families and repressed love is returning to London, as the Young Vic's new version of Blood Wedding opens this September. Olivier Award nominee Yaël Farber (The Crucible, The Old Vic) will direct Marina Carr’s version of the play, which promises to be an intensely passionate tale. Be quick, and score some of the last remaining tickets.

... Into Adidas Yung-1's in Cloud White.
With a chunky midsole, mesh and suede overlays and a retro 90s feel, this is the latest trainer for cool girls (and boys). The style is distinctly more grown up than the new, equally popular Ozweego style, so it's suitable and wearable for all ages. A triumph of style and performance, they're firmly on our wishlist. The Yung-1s are set to launch in Crystal White colourway on 1 September.

... the Booker Prize shortlist.
We gave you our guide to the Booker Prize long list back in July, and on Tuesday 3 September the shortlist of six books will be announced. Our hotly tipped favourite is The Testaments by Margaret Atwood - the sequel to The Handmaid's Tale. The plot is a closely-guarded secret until it is published on 10 September. Atwood's already won the Booker (for The Blind Assasin in 2000) and this is the sixth time she has been nominated.

... Frederic Malle Rose & Cuir.
Inspired by the storied Mistral winds that sweep through the South of France, Rose & Cuir is the newest addition to Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle's mainline collection. Authored by Jean-Claude Ellena, notes of airy rose, cassis and geranium are countered by the dark spice of timut pepper, leather and cedar. A curiously sober drama.
