2019 is set to be dotted and dripping with pearls (baroque, to be precise). Thanks to the likes of Mary Queen of Scots and The Favourite's recent gracing of the silver screen, we’ve been on the look out for similar embellishments to elevate our daytime and evening looks. … at BLOK, the boutique gym studio for art lovers. With outposts in Shoreditch and Clapton, BLOK boasts a schedule of twenty eight different classes, ranging from boxing and yoga to calisthenics. While BLOK Clapton is housed in a disused tram depot (you can still see the tram lines), BLOK Shoreditch is in the Norman Foster designed principal place development. Both spaces have a gallery and a cafe.

Windowshop…

…with Selfridges’ latest campaign, State of the Arts, in which the mannequins of the institution's landmark windows will be replaced with a series of art installations. It's a three month long initiative including installations, workshops and tours that has been conceived with some of the UK’s leading galleries and artists.

… for Tate Lates’ women themed evening, curated by the unstoppable Katy Hessel of @thgreatwomenartists. The evening will see a digital display of women artists throughout history along with a mammoth timeline, a photo booth, a quiz, and a chance to educate yourself about great women artists throughout history. That’s not to mention the vagina embroideries.

… By bypassing the hysteria and frenzied glamour surrounding the V&A’s blockbuster Dior show. Instead, opt for English As A Second Language at Somerset House, in which Asian-born photographers Hanna Moon and Joyce Ng explore the feeling of being ‘lost in translation’. Shedding light on the importance of fresh outlooks within fashion photography through cultural representation, it's not one to miss.

… with classic Tuscan dishes flavoured with a touch of the modern, as Chef Dominique Goltinger’s new restaurant Maremma lands in Brixton. Think wild boar prosciutto, spinach and ricotta tortelli, and bistecca alla Fiorentina. Sì, grazie.
