Eleonore's autumn culture and lifestyle edit

What our editor-in-chief has been enjoying this month

EXHIBITIONS I HAVE LOVED THIS MONTH

I have attended more than 20 exhibitions in the past couple of weeks, not counting Frieze. The Noguchi exhibition at the Barbican was one of my highlights.

But there are also smaller shows that are really worth visiting. Here are my favourites

A CAPPUCCINO WITH WES AND TIMOTHÉE

Are you in for Dune or The French Dispatch today?

I went to check out The French Dispatch prop exhibition which opened last week at 180 Studios. It is very enjoyable and probably much more fun to visit once having seen the film.

It is worth stopping by Le Sans Blague Café, to sip an oat cappuccino – merci Wes Anderson, as you'd be unlikely to find one in a real-life French café – with some delicious éclairs from Maitre Choux.

ON SQUID GAME

Who hasn’t been secretly enjoying K-dramas during lockdown? The globally embraced genre that’s surged in popularity with the general wave of Korean culture is getting more attention than ever before.

Beyond pure escapism, there is something deeply absorbing about them. Their stories reach beyond what many Western shows and movies would risk.

And if you haven’t been engulfed by Squid Game’s phenomenon yet, you should read Euan’s take on it.

AUTUMN FASHION TRENDS FOR MEN

Some of you may have noticed my article on Frieze fashion style and how men’s outfits and allure stole the show.

As we are finally getting into autumnal weather and sales are popping up everywhere, here is a round-up of the menswear autumn fashion trends.

TATA'S ELIXIRS

I met up with the beauty empress Tata Harper who was in London last week.

Behind the cult green brand known for its sustainable approach to beauty is a team highly dedicated to technology and innovation.

Their products are constantly updated and are all made in Tata’s labs. Every formula takes at least a year to make.

I have been using the incredible Elixir Vitae serum daily ever since and I must say I can see the impact on my skin. I also recommend their nourishing oil cleanser which leaves your skin pristine and moisturized.

TIME TO BOOK THOSE TICKETS

To our great delight, the London Jazz Festival is back next month with key stars Cécile McLorin Salvant and Chick Corea. Tickets are selling fast.

Also on my radar, this weekend is brilliant programming at the Coronet Theatre.

French director Joël Pommerat whose repertoire of revisited fairy tales creates spell-binding theatre will present his popular production, Le Petit Chaperon Rouge (Little Red Riding Hood) in London in November.

The show has toured to great acclaim all around the world and is finally coming to London. I strongly recommend it.

And finally

A fun fashion pop-up not to miss!

Warm and Wonderful, the brand behind the famous Sheep jumper worn by Princess Diana, has opened a lovely pop-up store in Covent Garden.

Jumpers now come in green, pale blue and pink as well as red. And if they are a bit pricey for you, you can always get a purse or a tote bag. Xmas present at the ready!
