... Andy Warhol at Tate Modern


Born in 1927 to working-class immigrants, Andy Warhol would become - and remains - one of America's most important artists of the 20th century. This month, Tate Modern opens a major six-month exhibition celebrating the artist’s career. The show will include some of his best-known works, including his screenprint portrait of Marilyn Monroe, his soup cans and cola bottles, along with a curation of his lesser known pieces.

... Marine Serre


LVMH Prize winner Marine Serre founded her eponymous label after working at Balenciaga, Maison Margiela, Alexander McQueen and Dior among others. The French designer fuses upbeat sportswear with feminine silhouettes, and her crescent moon-printed pieces have dominated fashion month street style. Jump on this contemporary, sartorial bandwagon.

Raised on the holy trinity of soul, blues and jazz, LA-born Celeste's textured, butter-soft vocals and profound lyrics have earned her huge acclaim so far this year. She picked up the BRIT's rising star award at the end of 2019, performed at the official awards ceremony last month, and has just been announced as BBC's 'Sound of 2020'. One to watch, marvel at, and be transported by.

With an initial release dubbed 'the face oil to end all face oils', and a waiting-list for the latest, second one, Vintner's Daughter's two cult products have fast-become a big deal in the beauty world. ... Cecil Beaton's 'Bright Young Things' at National Portrait Gallery


Vogue photographer and social butterfly Cecil Beaton captured the bold and the beautiful of high society during a golden age of glamour. This month, an exhibition will examine Beaton's portraits of Britain's socialites from the 20s and 30s – the actors and dancers, aristocrats and influencers of the era. It will also take a look at the man himself, who was a celebrity in his own right.

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is swapping her dragons for a seagull as she makes her West End debut in a fresh take on Chekhov. Clarke will play Nina, the ambitious ingenue at the heart of 1896 play The Seagull.

Hilary Mantel has kept us waiting for the final novel in her double Booker-winning Thomas Cromwell trilogy. The Mirror & the Light captures Cromwell’s fall from grace, the final novel begins with him masterminding Anne Boleyn’s execution in 1536 and ends with his own beheading in 1540. 'We walk the last miles of Cromwell’s life, ascending to unprecedented riches and honour and abruptly descending to the scaffold at Tower Hill,’ Mantel promises.
