The lifestyle edit: October
October is here, and as autumn turns the light from gold to blue and the air grows icy fresh, a new attitude arrives
Art fix
Ah, Frieze. The art, the parties, the influx of culture’s major players, the fun of it all. It's back for another year.
Two colossal tents will take over Regent's Park, bringing together over 160 of the world’s leading galleries from New York to Berlin and Shanghai to São Paulo.
Contemplate works by newly-discovered artists alongside some of the contemporary most respected names.

Eat
... at Kym's - the second restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Andrew Wong, set to be the city's new dining destination in a flurry of pastel pink interior and deliciously good food,
Wong re-imagines Classic Chinese dishes to make for an innovative new menu (sweet and sour crispy duck, anyone?) while championing artisanal produce of Soho's Chinatown ingredients-wise.
If that doesn't tempt you, the feng shui just might. A bespoke cherry blossom tree plays through the centre of the staircase, joining the lower and upper levels. A theatrical meal awaits.

Alternatively, Japan’s most adored literary export Haruki Murakami's Killing Commendatore, is set for release on the 9 October. A tale of love and war, and said to be a homage to The Great Gatsby, the literary world waits with baited breath.
Step
... Into the vegan Stella McCartney Stan Smith sneakers, as she continues her reign as sustainability's favourite London cool girl.
McCartney has long been a front woman of cruelty-free fashion, and her face appears on the left tongue of the shoe, alongside Stan's on the right. Want.

Our skincare prayers were answered with news that Drunk Elephant will launch in the UK on the 3 October by way of Space NK.
The cult US brand comes with a stellar reputation of 'good ingredients', pretty-as-hell packaging, and transformative, skin-healing results.

The humble raincoat has experienced something of a renaissance, with high fashion players riffing on macs and rendering them en vogue.
Rains is the Danish brand revolutionizing rainwear with cool, clean silhouettes and tech-savvy materials, like their Glossy Curve Jacket in black. The stuff of Belle Du Jour, rainy-day dreams.

Listen
... to Moses Sumney. With his saintly falsetto, Californian languor and scholarly bent, this former choir boy is utterly irresistible. His debut album, last year’s much-praised Aromanticism, is a genre-defiant meditation on loneliness in the age of the dating app.
