In a more convenient evolution of traditional dry cleaning services, Laundrapp collects your dirties and brings them back freshly laundered and ironed. It’s especially handy for shirts, though anything from delicates to duvets can be cleaned, with prices starting at £2 per item. We’ve tested a fair few London cleaning services and Handy has consistently proved the most reliable and efficient, whether you need a last-minute blitz or a regular weekly clean. It’s a user-friendly site with slots from 7am-11pm and online payments negating the need to faff around with cash. Handy is particularly, um, handy for when you need a seasonal deep clean, as you can add on extras such as oven cleaning (along with handymen and house-moving services). This is a service designed with top quality vintage and designer labels in mind - so you can at least be sure they will know how to revive investment handbags or special occasion stilettos.

Thanks to the NHS most of us have little reason to fork out for private health care. But then, once in a blue moon, you may find yourself in need of a GP appointment without waiting for weeks or eating into office hours. Doctorcall caters to the time-poor with same-day appointments. Knowing the right exit might not seem revolutionary, but anyone who’s battled from one end of a packed platform to the other will know that elbowing tourists out the way is surprisingly slow and stressful.

London’s appetite for meal prep delivery services shows no sign of abating: we all want to cut out supermarket trips and whip up freshly cooked meals with no fuss, pre-planning, food waste or excess plastic packaging. Of the many delivery services out there, Mindful Chef gets our vote for both practicality and the enticing variety of recipes. Health conscious without being abstemious or dull, the nutritionist-approved recipes are inspiring, easy to follow in 30 minutes and adapted for one, two or four people, as well as various dietary requirements. As committed carb-ivores we were worried the virtuous emphasis on protein, veg and and complex carbs might leave us dissatisfied. But it turns out that dishes such as Spanish cod, chickpeas and roasted peppers, and honey and mustard pork with butter bean mash are every bit as delicious as they sound.
