Ralph Breaks The Internet, Wreck-It Ralph sequel celebrates Disney princesses

Six years ago, Wreck-It Ralph broke our hearts with its story of a misunderstood, highly lovable baddie from a retro arcade game. Now, Ralph is back, and it’s the internet that’s getting broken — whether this means our hearts are in the clear is yet to be determined.

The story left off with Ralph and his friend Vanellope von Schweetz saving the day by preventing Ralph’s game, Fix-it Felix Jr., from being ‘unplugged’ by Litwak, the arcade owner who has no idea that the characters in all his consoles lead lives of their own.

In Ralph Breaks the Internet, Litwak unwittingly brings about yet more chaos and excitement by installing WiFi and plunging Ralph and Venellope into the world wide web. Suddenly, the two friends find themselves dealing with everything from clickbait to Disney princesses in what looks to be a funny and affectionate exploration of Gen Z Internet culture.

Returning as the voices of Ralph and Venellope are John C. Reilly (Step Brothers) and Sarah Silverman (Battle of the Sexes), as well as Jane Lynch (Glee) as the kick-ass protagonist of the game Hero’s Duty. With so many princesses making an appearance, we can also expect to hear Auli'i Cravalho as Moana, Kristen Bell as Anna and Kelly Macdonald as Merida. You might not recognise their on-screen characters at first, though – they've had a bit of a makeover, and are shown lounging with Vanellope wearing leggings and trainers, complete with Elsa in a 'Just Let It Go' T-shirt.

Ralph Breaks the Internet will start buffering on cinema screens this November 30th. Make sure you’re plugged in and charged up because we're expecting one helluva ride.
