Take One Picture, National Gallery

The National Gallery's Take One Picture exhibition is for anyone who's walked into an art gallery and said, 'My kid could do that.'

Showcasing work that was exclusively created by schoolchildren across England (and one British school in Brunei), the exhibition is a series of artworks the talented young virtuosos made in response to Roman Triumph, a vibrant piece by Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens.

Creative responses range from ceramics to printmaking. The students' artistic endeavours were inspired by the painting's details: dancing maidens, sacrificial animals, trumpets, soothsayers, and elephants. Their works reflect the richness and exuberance of the honorary procession depicted by Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens.
