Rambert Summer of Dance
People of all ages are invited to join Britain’s leading contemporary dance company for a summer of classes, workshops and performances
Throughout August, Rambert will welcome youngsters aged 10 to 17 as well as adults for a summer of dance classes led by professional dancers and motivational teachers.
‘Young Movers’ aged 10 to 13 can look forward to five days of contemporary dance technique classes, repertoire workshops, creative sessions and an end-of-week sharing for family and friends.
Older teenagers have the choice of two five-day courses. Alternatively, as the weeks run consecutively, there is also the option to attend both courses at a discounted price – something that ought to please both the dancers themselves and any parents footing the bill!
‘Rambert Experience’ offers a behind-the-scenes tour of Rambert’s South Bank home, a day with some of the company’s dancers, and classes.
‘Rambert Repertoire’ comprises classes and workshops drawing on pieces recently performed by the company. Both weeks culminate with a sharing of work.
Adults also have a variety of options to choose from.
Five-day adult courses are available at intermediate and advanced levels. These require a minimum of two and three years’ dance experience, respectively.
Summer school courses aside, Rambert offers a range of dance classes throughout the year for children aged two and upwards. There are also regular term-time dance and fitness classes for adults.
So, whether you want to spend quality time with your diddy dancer in ‘Little Movers’ or realise your childhood dreams of learning ballet, there's sure to be a Rambert dance class to suit.
Booking is now open, so hot-foot it over to the Rambert website to seize these exciting opportunities to dance, create, perform and be inspired this summer.
