There's a Monster in my Piano, Little Angel Theatre
What's that strange munching noise inside the piano? A jazzily joyful puppet show...
Doctor, doctor, there’s a monster in my piano! The zany piano doctor is hero of Little Angel Theatre’s latest show, solving musical maladies with a collection of strange and brilliant tools.
Garlic Theatre’s original tale is brought to life with an innovative fusion of puppetry, animation and clowning. A French toy piano with a perfectly accurate mechanism sits centre-stage, and with the piano doctor as guide, children will discover how musical notes are created – and what to do when a devious monster interferes with the melody...
The infectious energy of this show is held in the dextrous hands of solo performer and Iklooshar Malara, Co-Artistic Director of Garlic Theatre Company. She describes how from conception to performance the show plays upon the childish propensity for surprise and ‘plays with audience’s fear and imagination, creating a world that is a bit more special than this ordinary world.’ And this memorable musical world makes for an offbeat and jazzy joy.
