Macbeth: 'The One-Half World', Little Angel Theatre

‘Now half the world nature seems dead, and wicked dreams abuse curtained sleep.’ So cries Macbeth just before stabbing the slumbering King Duncan. Channeling the vivid nightmarish quality of Shakespeare’s goriest tragedy, the Little Angel Theatre puppet company have created ‘Macbeth: The One-Half World’, a unique interpretation of the murderous and supernatural tale retold for children.

Shifting from the Shakespearean macabre to contemporary echoes from C.S Lewis’s ‘Dark Island’ and integrating arresting surrealist images, this imaginative puppet show will expose children to the tension and excitement of classic theatre. Director and puppet maker Oliver Hymans, whose strange and captivating creations have brought global success, has turned his creative vision to designing an original production that is dark yet child-friendly.
