Imperial War Museum Family Events: Make a Poppy
Remembrance Sunday tends to go over the heads of little ones, who can be baffled by long church services and so don't easily grasp the importance and meaning of the poppy.
This weekend, the Imperial War Museum is offering offering kids the chance to learn all about the First World War and get engaged in making a poppy of their own.
In this free, drop-in Remembrance Weekend activity, families can 'grow' their own poppy out of paper, wire and recycled military buttons, all the while learning the history of their great-great-grandparents and being taught about the symbolism of the poppy and why it's associated with conflicts and memorials.
This children's activity is a lovely way for families to have fun whilst honouring Remembrance Day.
