Michael Rosen's Bear Hunt ★★★★★
February half term events at Michael Rosen's Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake and Bad Things exhibition at the Discover Children's Story Centre
Following the Discover Children’s Story Centre's recent award: the European Museum Academy International Children’s Museum Award, it’s only natural to expect great things of the latest interactive exhibition: Michael Rosen’s Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake and Bad Things.
Families visiting the centre will find a permanent large exhibition room on the first floor, filled with storytelling pods and multicoloured, sensory play areas. Down the stairs, the centre's temporary exhibits is hosting a 3D Michael Rosen world featuring a huge chocolate cake, hidden rooms and clues and bears wondering round their caves.
Little ones who have enjoyed Rosen's books will find themselves immersed in a kid-sized realisation of scenes in the story they love. But if your children haven't read the books, don't be disheartened, they'll still find themselves in a different world with secrets to uncover: from an old-fashioned classroom to hidden word games and of course, bears big and small.
For what it is - Discover Children's Story Centre is a lovely environment in which children can decompress whilst learning a little about Michael Rosen's literature. But parents be warned: it can be messy and somewhat wild down there...
