Cinderella, Lyric Hammersmith
The Cinderella panto is back at the Lyric Hammersmith this Christmas, and we just can't wait to see what their funky modern twist is this year.
Cinderella Pantomime London 2015
“I give it 4 stars without a doubt, if only I could have grabbed one or two treats” said our young reviewer when he came out of Cinderella.
Indeed, what’s not to love: sparkle aplenty, popular tunes that get little girls and their mothers dancing - sweets flung across the theatre, magical tricks (really), precious “he's behind you” moments and (spoiler!) snowflakes falling from the sky.
Cinderella has all the ingredients of a popular family Christmas show. Wistfully directed by Ellen McDougall with a clever double entendre script from Tom Wells, you are in for a entertaining evening that will work for adults and children alike.
Featuring a lost glittery pink Converse, drag queen stepsisters Booty and Licious (Matt Sutton and Peter Caulfield in great form), a charming and perfectly bland Prince Charming (Karl Queensborough) and a wicked step mother in a very wicked push chair, this Cinderella is set in a modern day London where magic dresses come from Primark and best friends root for the X Factor.
If panto is your thing, don’t delay. If you are not convinced, trust the Lyric Hammersmith with its long experience in the matter to offer you a perfectly enjoyable evening. With a few of the first nights already sold out, get your hands on these tickets early and don't miss
